How to Use Your NailGuardian in 4 Simple Steps

Step 1: Introduce the Tool Calmly

Before you begin, let your pet get comfortable with the NailGuardian grinder. Turn it on for a moment and let them sniff it and hear the quiet sound. Reward them with a treat and praise for their calm curiosity. This creates a positive association from the very start.

Step 2: Find a Comfortable Position

Choose a quiet, well-lit area where your pet is relaxed. Gently but firmly hold your pet’s paw, making sure any long fur is pushed away from the nail. Your calm confidence will help keep them at ease.1

Step 3: Illuminate the Nail to Find the Quick

Turn on the NailGuardian and activate the Vet-Illumination LED light. The light will help you clearly see the pinkish "quick" inside the nail, which contains the nerves and blood vessels. Your goal is to only trim the hard, outer part of the nail, avoiding this sensitive area.

Step 4: Grind in Short, Gentle Increments

Gently touch the grinder to the tip of the nail at a 45-degree angle. Instead of holding it in one place, grind for only a few seconds at a time, moving smoothly across the bottom and in from the tip to shape the nail. Work in small increments, checking your progress after each pass. When you're finished, reward your pet with plenty of praise and another treat for a job well done.

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your NailGuardian, please follow these simple care instructions:

• Clean After Every Use: After turning the device off, remove the protective safety guard. Use a soft cloth or a small brush to wipe away any nail dust from the diamond grinding head and the inside of the guard. This prevents buildup and ensures a smooth grind every time.  
• Wipe Down the Body: Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to wipe the body of the NailGuardian clean. Never submerge the device in water or use harsh chemical cleaners, as this can damage the internal components.  
• Proper Charging: For best results, charge your NailGuardian fully before its first use. To preserve long-term battery health, avoid leaving the device plugged in for extended periods after it has reached a full charge.
• Safe Storage: When not in use, store your NailGuardian in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Always place the protective storage cap over the grinding head to protect it from damage and keep it clean.
